Ms. Jackie Peacock is a first year teacher and new Bella Blues coach this year. She works so hard every day. You will find Ms.Peacock every morning from 7 A.M. until near the end of first period coaching her Bella Blues and then all day at the Junior High School teaching 6th grade English. In addition to doing everything on weekdays, she also attends every Friday night football game, all of the pep rallies, band competitions, and any separate competitions for her dancers.
When asked about her favorite part about teaching and what she does she says “My favorite thing about teaching is inspiring the minds of young children. Seeing them be able to learn something new is inspiring to me. With Bellas, I love being able to teach something that I am passionate about, and see them become passionate as well. Furthermore, I enjoy being able to teach girls about something that has taught me a lot of different life lessons.” Ms. Peacock has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science with an emphasis in adolescent studies. When I asked her why she chose this career path, she replied with “I chose this because I transferred schools, and I wanted to become a teacher.” As mentioned before, she is a coach for our highschool drill team called the Bella Blues. This is her first year coaching as well. Her response to the question on why she wanted to coach was “The simple answer is that I love teaching dance. Growing up, I would help teach young kids dance classes and lots of parents would tell me that I would be good at teaching my own class. Teaching is something I love doing, but also combining it with an activity that I am passionate about brings me a lot of joy.”
We can all see that Ms.Peacock is very passionate about her job which is always an amazing quality to have as a teacher. Graham ISD is more than lucky to have such a great teacher and coach on their staff.
