On July 20th, 1969, an exciting and nervous day, nearly 600 million people turned on their tv’s and watched the nobel Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin step onto the moon, being the first humans on Earth to do so. But did these people really watch what they think? Did Neil Alden Armstrong truly take the first step onto the moon or does the United States government really think we are naive enough to believe this fraud of a crucial moment in history?
I’m not too sure myself whether the moon landing was faked or true or partially both. The United States was in a rush to be the first on the moon so they could win something in this space race they were losing, so it would make sense that they fake this event. And for me personally I wouldn’t put it past the government to perform a lie such as this. But here are some things I do wonder about.
First let’s talk about one of the most odd things about this historical moment. How in the year 1969 did they live broadcast the moon landing footage, from the moon, to almost all of the tv’s in the United States? May not seem strange to you? Apparently the first live broadcast in the United States was in 1951. And if only then was the first live broadcast how just years later did they broadcast all the way from the moon? It seems strange to me.
Now about that footage of the moon landing I have some wonders that are more common. Like why was there wind in the flag if they were in space? Of course I don’t know what a flag would look like in space with no air but I would assume it wouldn’t look… windy. What about this background? It’s pitch black. No stars or anything. Just black. Now if I can see stars at night from the earth why were there zero stars in the background from the moon?
Well during the writing of this article, all of the things I was curious about were explained. The camera was attached to the ship. The footage was sent by signal to NASA and they sent it to everyone’s living rooms. There was a small couple of second delay between what was happening on the moon and what Americans watched on their screens. It was recorded but it was sent by signal and wasn’t a straight live stream. The explanation for stars is said that the moon was too bright from the reflection of the sun causing the camera to not catch the stars onto the footage we see. And lastly the flag is said to have waves in it due to the astronauts moving the flag while securing it into the moon and because of the weak gravity it appeared as we see it.
Of course there are SO many more questions and conspiracies, some including the other trips to the moon. The ones I included were my most personal curiosities. After reading this, I encourage you to go do some of your own research. You may find yourself believing it’s true with no doubt or questioning the facts you thought you knew.
