With Halloween around the corner, Christmas items are on the shelves. Sounds a little odd right? Well apparently for mainstream stores, like Target and Walmart, they are completely fine with impaling a Halloween with a Christmas pine. I believe that out of respect for Halloween, Christmas items should be put in their respective places for the season of fall. In the back of the storage. Christmas is an amazing holiday, but why do we need a fast forward button during the October holiday? Let’s have better stores around America. – Cameron McBride
I feel that even though Halloween is a day to hang out with the family, go house to house, eat candy till you get sick to your stomach, and to dress up and get scared out of your mind. You still have to take big precautions. You have to think about things such as this: there’s little kids everywhere and people hanging out of windows on trailers at night. You have to watch out which house you go to and make sure that you don’t run over or even eat candy that has been tampered with. For example, you have to watch out and make sure that your candy, or your kids candy, is safe to eat. Inspect the packaging to make sure that there’s no needle holder that hasn’t been opened, and if it does don’t eat it. You also have to watch out for if there’s a house without a porch light off, and if so do not go there. This indicates that the person living in the house has been in trouble with the law; so yes, have fun, let loose, and spend your Halloween with your family. Just keep in mind to make sure that you are being precautious, and watching your surroundings very carefully. -Montana Guinn
Many people have reconsidered celebrating Halloween due to its external safety concerns. Although Halloween can be unsafe there are also ways families can make it safe. For example, Not letting your children roam around house to house without an adult. However some safety issues aren’t this easy to solve. Another example of an issue during Halloween could be candy being tampered with. This isn’t an issue that is as easy to be avoided. There are many pros and cons to celebrating Halloween, and it all solely depends on the type of family you have and what your beliefs are. -Haley Escalante
When it comes to Halloween, it is a holiday that is fun for all ages, ranging from newborns to the elderly. For all ages there are safety precautions that are needed to be considered. There has been a big development since the 90’s. In the 90’s many parents would send their children alone or with friends to go trick or treating. There was also less concern on the quality of the candy and if it has been tampered with. In today’s time, many parents go trick-or-treating with their kids until they reach the age that they stop going trick-or-treating. Many families nowadays only go to houses of people they know. This is to make sure the candy is safe. The inspection of candy started a couple years ago, when people were placing needles in the candy. Now people are concerned that they could be laced with fentanyl. Halloween is a fun holiday but in today’s world we have to stick to safety precautions to ensure that we do not intake candy that has been tampered with. -Braylee Mayes
