One of the most recent events in town is The Spivey Hill Challenge. This is an annual 5k race that has been going on for 9 years in the town of Graham TX. It is planned to be on November 11th at 9 AM. This event takes place at Fireman’s Park, one of the most known parks to locals. All funds of the race are divided between two charities, Shine On and Garments of Grace. The diversity of events offered in this race contributes to the registration being open to people of all ages. One of the main events is the 5k (virtual and in person). The virtual option is very helpful for those who would still like to contribute funds to this race but won’t be able to make it to the event. The in person event is mostly centered for runners who want to be timed and compete with other runners. A second event they offer is the “Walk and talk”. Anybody can participate in this one because you literally walk and talk! It is a great way to exercise at your own pace while still helping donate to these wonderful charities. Last but not least is the fun run. This event is a 1k for anybody who would just like to give a little enthusiastic lap around a trail. This is very popular with younger kids, it makes them feel included in the 5k event without feeling the burnout from the 5k. Altogether, the Spivey Hill Challenge is for everybody, and it’s never too late to sign up. You can show up the day of the race and still compete with others!
