Coughs and sneezes echo through the hallways here at Graham High School. Germs are running rampant, sticking to all surfaces and infecting students who touch them. Students then share food and drink with each other, further spreading the viruses. Soon enough, the majority of the school has come down with something. But, it keeps going around and around. A never ending cycle of quickly spreading sickness.
This all began a few weeks ago, in the beginning of the super cold and windy temps. The weather had already been changing hastily, causing allergies to worsen and colds to be caught. But then, there was a brief moment of true, bitter coldness. Most of the sicknesses were caught during then. Most students continued to attend school, unknowing of them being sick. This is how a germ rampage begins. Due to many students attending school while being sick, (in some cases unaware) whatever sickness they have is contaminated to the rest of the student body.
The reason why so many people are going to school sick is because they feel an extreme pressure to attend classes. The fear of getting behind on classwork, and missing classes is extreme. Having multiple absences can eventually add up. But, a student can only miss so many days until they lose their exam exemptions. Because of this many students feel like they need to come to school sick in order to keep their exemptions. The school almost encourages students to attend school while ill.
In conclusion, students are coming down with overwhelming sickness, which is spreading extremely quickly.
