Currently, vaping e-cigarettes is a harmful practice done by many people in the world. Vapes contain nicotine, which is addictive and damaging to your health, and there are also other toxic chemicals in them. Many teens and adults in the whole world fall victim to this addiction.
In the 1900s electronic cigarettes started to be thought of. In the 1990s, vapes were made as an alternative to tobacco, because the FDA did not regulate tobacco products. However, the FDA still disapproved of vapes as a drug-delivering device. In 2003, the first successful e-cigarette was created. A Chinese pharmacist invented these vapes to serve as an alternative to smoking cigarettes. He advertised vaping as a way to help people stop smoking cigarettes and said that they have decreased health risks compared to cigarettes. Many people picked up this addiction because they wanted to quit smoking, but it was not until 2008 that it was discovered vapes were just as harmful. Foundation Combating Smoking in Turkey, Kiyas Güngör, claims that “nicotine is the most dangerous element among 4,800 poisonous chemicals in cigarettes.” (CASAA, 2008). The addictive aspects are very intense for teens and adults.
