Fields of Faith is an event hosted by Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) that brings youth together from different towns in our area. This year, it was on October 9th, 2024 at Graham High School’s Newton Field. On this important night, students gather at the field for something bigger than the football played there on Friday nights. They gather to worship. hear students speak, share testimonies, and connect with adults for prayer requests. Attendance consisted of around 2000 kids.
Mason Milton from Graham,Texas is a senior at Graham High School. He goes to High Ridge Church. His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:1 because it reminds him that strength comes from God in every situation. When asked if he was nervous to speak. in front of such a large crowd he replied, “Speaking in front of people has never been a problem for me.” Mason plays football, basketball, baseball, and is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). “The world tells us what our problems are and that we should be strong and not rely on others. Fear is the biggest lie because God tells us to listen to Him trust Him, and put your faith in Him.”
Tristen Roberts from Graham, Texas is a senior at Graham High School. He goes to Faith Center Assembly of God. His favorite Bible verse is Galatians 2:20. When asked about what FCA means to him, he replied, “FCA is a way for Christians to gather together whether they are athletes or not”. He has always wanted to speak and share his faith to a big group of people. He said he prayed about having to speak because he was nervous. He didn’t grow up in a Christian home and didn’t know Jesus personally. His parents split up and he got super depressed. He was a freshman when he encountered Jesus and all his depression and anxiety left and now he lives for Christ every day.
On this night, students set aside sports and school rivalries and focus on what brings them together, The Word of God.
