The Graham High School Steers continued their impressive season with a dominant 37-0 victory over the Mineral Wells Rams on Friday. Displaying both offensive strength and defensive resilience, the Steers extended their winning streak at home, maintaining their position as one of the top contenders this season.
The Steers took control from the outset, leading 16-0 at halftime thanks to two touchdowns from senior running back Rylan Monsey. By the end of the game, Monsey had recorded an impressive 114 rushing yards and three touchdowns, marking his best rushing performance since last November. Returning strong after an earlier-season injury, Monsey has brought versatility and skill back to the Steers’ offensive lineup. Ty Thompson added to the offensive firepower, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown, while Harrison Brockway contributed 54 receiving yards, keeping the Rams’ defense on their toes.
On defense, Graham was relentless, securing their fourth consecutive shutout and preventing the Rams from getting on the scoreboard. This result continues a winning trend for the Steers in their recent match ups with Mineral Wells, marking six straight victories against the Rams.
With the win, Graham advances to a 7-1 record and extends their nine-game home winning streak dating back to last season. The Steers have consistently excelled in their ground game, rushing for over 160 yards in each of their last five games. This balanced offensive approach, combined with a rock-solid defense, has cemented Graham’s status as a powerhouse this season.
The atmosphere in the stands was equally electric. The crowd showed their support decked out in pink as part of the “Pink Out” game, creating a vibrant show of unity and school spirit. Seeing the entire community rally behind the team like this felt especially meaningful. It’s not just about the football; it’s about supporting each other, coming together, and showing pride in our school.
Looking ahead, the Steers face a significant challenge in their upcoming matchup against Brock, who comes into the game on a seven-game winning streak. Graham is prepared to defend their winning momentum and showcase their resilience in what promises to be an exciting game.
The Steers are proving week after week that they are a force to be reckoned with, standing ready to take on all challenges as the season continues. With the crowd’s continued support, Graham’s season is shaping up to be unforgettable.
