Basic Information:
Golden Child, Chapter 2 was released on August 26, 2022. It is an album by “Autumn!” and it is a rap/pluggnb album. It is only 13 minutes long and has seven songs. It wasn’t promoted that much before the release. Before the album was released Autumn first released an EP titled “##B4GC2 ##B4GC2” which contains four tracks that were recorded during the period of recording this album. This album was originally supposed to be the deluxe to Autum’s debut album “Antagonist”. Autumn instead made it the sequel to “Golden Child, Chapter 1” which was released on June 12, 2021.
Track Summaries:
The album begins with a track titled “Golden Child 2 Intro, ” a nice track where Autumn talks about being rich now and being able to pay back his mom for the sacrifices she made for him and how he doesn’t care who judges him because he’s successful now. The second track which was produced by “Goyxrd” titled “Inside My Head” has Autumn open up about his mental health. Autumn also talks about his personal life and relationship with his family. He talks about how he feels like he’s trying to get his life together and how people assume everything is fine because he has money but that they have no idea what he goes through at night. On the third track titled “Can We Talk!” Autumn transitions from the last song which had a deep meaning into a fun track where he speaks about wishing to speak to his significant other. The fourth track “Golden Child!” where Autumn recognizes the influence he has over the youth and the responsibility he has. The fifth track “Jay N Bey!” produced by “30nickk” was originally previewed on Instagram as “Purple Rain”. The track was originally supposed to be on the album “Antagonist”. The sixth track “Should Know Me Better!” also produced by “30nickk” has Autumn speak about how he feels like he’s been living life too fast lately. This song is the best showcase of Autumn’s vocal abilities on the album. On the seventh and final track of the album “Myself!” Autumn dives into his relationship issues and how his significant other made him feel better about himself. A line that showcases this is “Used to have a lot of things except for hope for myself, I was a joke to myself, but when you came in all that had left”.
Standout Tracks:
The standout tracks on the album are “Should Know Me Better!”, “Jay N Bey!, and “Inside My Head!”. The track with the best instrumental is “Jay N Bey!”. The overall best song on the album is “Should Know Me Better” as it is not only the catchiest but it also has the best vocal performance it is also my personal favorite. I think the weakest track is “Golden Child 2 Intro”. It is not a bad song overall but it’s boring in comparison to the rest of the album. I really like “Jay N Bey!” because of how catchy it is. This album is up there with “What We Didn’t Have” by Summrs and Nothing More Nothing Less” by Summrs as some of my favorite pluggnb albums of all time. It is definitely in my top 3 Autumn albums. I’d say “Golden Child, Chapter 3” and “Midnight Club” are up there but Golden Child, Chapter 2 is my favorite. I think it is a little short but I prefer it to the 24 songs of “Golden Child, Chapter 3”. The production isn’t up to par with the likes of Autumn’s newer projects such as “Midnight Club” and “Solitary” but I enjoy the simplicity in this project.
“Midnight Club” has superb production but sometimes the songs are brought down because of the transitions from one song to another which are so notorious on his newer albums. I am a big fan of the transitions but sometimes it tends to drag the songs on a bit too long after they already should’ve ended. A good example of this on “Midnight Club” is on the song “TWO CHROME NECKLACES!” which transitions into the track “COCAINE DIAMONDS” the transtion on this song goes on for over a minute and is just a conversation between Autumn and an interviewer which after you hear it for the first time tends to get stale. However, this is very effective on a song like “COCAINE DIAMONDS” which transitions into “SHE SAY HE SAY” the transition on this song is so smooth you won’t even notice the song changed unless you are actively watching the time remaining on the track.
“Golden Child, Chapter 2 isn’t trying to win a Grammy and even though some of the tracks showcase Autumn diving into his mental health, the project isn’t attempting to do too much which works well in pluggnb.

##B4GC2 ##B4GC2 Basic Information:
“##B4GC2 ##B4GC2” stands for “before golden child 2”. It is an EP that continues a tradition of Autumn of dropping EPs with a few throwaways from the albums before the projects. Autumn doesn’t do this for every album but he has done it for “Golden Child, Chapter 3”, “ ##R3 ##R3”, and ##R2 ##R2”. The project is nine minutes long and contains four songs. It was released on July 28, 2022.
Song Summaries:
“##B4GC2 ##B4GC2” starts with a track titled “My Collection” where Autumn lists off his “collection” of women that he has had relations with throughout the years. This song would go on to get a sequel on “Golden Child, Chapter 3” and Summrs would even release a track that feels very similar to this on “B4DARAVEN” titled “Situationships”. I prefer “Situationships” to “My Collection” but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad track. The second track on this project is titled “Im Doin Fine!” It was originally supposed to appear on the album “Antagonist” but was instead moved to this EP. The track has a nice instrumental and doesn’t try to do too much. It is a chill track that stays at a steady pace for the full duration. The third track titled “Know You Hear Me!” is my favorite on the project and is one of my favorite Autumn songs in general. The track is very catchy and has a great beat. I’m a big fan of this track and it really stands out compared to the other tracks featured on this project. On the song Autumn talks about his relationship with God and feeling like he needs to go to church as he feels his soul is “filthy”. He also talks about missing his big brother on the track. The fourth song “Wait Yeah!” is the weakest song on the project. It’s not bad but it’s a bit boring. Autumn doesn’t use his vocal range too much and spends most of the song repeating the words “Wait Yeah!”.
Standout Tracks
The standout tracks on this project are “Know You Hear Me!” and “My Collection”. “Know You Hear Me!” is very catchy and definitely the most memorable of this project for me. Most people like “My Collection” which is understandable as it is an amazing track. I don’t find myself returning to this project often unless it is for “Know You Hear Me!” if I’m feeling in the mood to listen to Autumn I usually listen to one of the Golden Child albums.
