Rebirth is DC The Don’s fourth studio album, which was released on October 23, 2024. It is one hour long and consists of 18 tracks. The album consists of a variety of diverse elements such as indie pop, R&B, hip hop, and even gospel-like choir vocals. Some great examples of diversity on this album are the tracks “BURN THE CITY” which includes elements of punk rock and “LOW LIFE ANTHEM” which features the vocal performances of a choir. The production of this project is really good. This project is overall really good and listeners can easily tell DC put a lot of effort into it.

Bryce’s overall thoughts:
As a long-time fan of DC The Don I really enjoyed this album as it was highly anticipated for me. Before the release of the album I listened to the snippets for the tracks “STELLA ROSE” and “BURN THE CITY”. Upon release, those tracks did not disappoint and remain some of my favorites from the album. When I first heard the track “CAN YOU BREATHE?” on a stream, I was not a fan. I thought the beat sounded like something you would hear in a Home Depot commercial. Since then this track has really grown on me. One of my favorites on the album is the song “HOLY MATRIMONY”. I am a big fan of the chorus on the song and it’s just a really smooth song overall. I think the second half of the album where DC gets vulnerable and taps into his emotions is where it really gets good. The two bonus tracks aren’t on the album but were originally planned to be so we included them in the ranking. “HOW DOES IT HURT?” is my favorite out of any of the tracks listed. It’s such a beautiful song. DC did an amazing job with this project and it’s my second favorite album of the year so far only behind “LYFESTYLE” by Yeat. The only thing I wanted that DC didn’t deliver on this project was collaborations with some of my favorite artists. DC already has music with artists I love such as “Dro Kenji”, “midwxst”, and “Jace!” but I still really want him to collaborate with artists such as “Tokyo’s Revenge”, “Summrs”, and “ericdoa”, however, I am fine with DC not having any of those artists featured because he is more than capable of making an amazing album without them. After hearing the improved production and vocal performances on this album and being able to tell DC put a lot of effort into this, I’m very excited to see what he has in store for his next project!
Grady’s overall thoughts:
I have been a fan of DC for a good while now, and this was a very highly anticipated album for me, to say I was impressed by this release is an understatement. Leading up to the release of this album I heard many snippets of different songs such as, “Burn The City”, and “Stella Rose”. When he dropped the album I was disappointed at the changes he had made to the track previously mentioned “Burn The City”, but after a while the changes grew on me and the track became one of my favorites. One of my favorite songs on the album is “Satellite”, from the guitar that plays throughout the track, the way he just is kinda talking to us, and telling us how he feels, it’s very nice to listen to and it’s why it has become my favorite on the album. I think the opening song “Spotlights” is an amazing opening, one of his best. Then you have the 2nd half of the album which is perfect, it is some of the best music I have ever listened to, with songs such as “HOLY MATRIMONY”, “BRAND NEW DR*GS”, “SATELLITE”, “FLY 2 YOU” and “WILL YOU BE MINE”. The song “FLY 2 YOU” is a song dedicated to the early passing of DC’s friend Sam Hernadez, better known as Sad Frosty, it’s a very uplifting song where DC talks about being able to see his friend one of these days again. But this has to be one of my favorite albums of all time. It just captures so many different emotions, and it shows how much he has grown as an artist from making rage rap to this more uplifting and loving music. While I do sometimes miss the old DC I do prefer this one more.
