Have you heard about the new AI translating devices that can translate different languages?
GISD received a grant of over $19,000 for devices that can translate to non English speakers. The device is called a Timekettle X1 Interpreter Hub. It is an AI device that comes with headphones and the device box. The X1 Interpreter can translate up to 40 languages and 93 different accents from different countries. The device has different modes that you can use. The different modes are group meeting translation, one-on-one translation, and voice call translation.
You might be asking, ”Is the device really useful?” Yes, it is. The X1 Interpreter device is a really useful device because it would make conversations with non English speakers easier. All you have to do is put the headphones in, speak into the box, and it will translate whatever you want to say in any of the 40 languages. Another good thing about the device is that it can translate different accents. It can translate Spanish from multiple countries like the Spanish from Mexico and the Spanish from Spain. There are a lot of different words that they say in Mexico, than how they say it in Spain. But the device can detect it!
These devices are very useful for the foreign exchange students that are learning and trying to understand English better. The AI device can help teach foreign exchange students words that they may not know, or understand in English. The device can also help exchange students that don’t know much English. Most foreign exchange students come to the US to learn English, so this device is very helpful.
