Having a small business at fifteen years old sounds crazy, doesn’t it?
I have a small business that I run on my own. I started it at 15 years old. The name of my business is j_bouquets940. You can find me on Instagram and tiktok.
My name is Joel Sanchez, and I started my business back in February of this year. I make eternal rose bouquets. Eternal roses are made out of ribbon. The process of making a bouquet takes so much time. I used to take up to a week to finish a bouquet. Now I can make a bouquet in 1-3 days.
The reason that I started making bouquets was because I wanted to learn how to make them for my cousins quinceañera. I wanted to gift her a bouquet but I didn’t want to pay so much money for someone to make one. I started learning in January and ever since I finished my first bouquet in February, my family was telling me that I should start selling them to make money.
There have been so many reasons for me wanting to quit. So many nights with little to no sleep. Days where I do nothing but sit at my desk and work. Nights where I can’t sleep because of the back pain from sitting for so long. Nights where I can’t sleep because I stress from the amount of orders I have to finish in just one week. Going weeks without any orders. Cramps in my hands from not being able to rest. All of those reasons but I kept on going.
Ever since I started, I’ve sold over 65 bouquets! In just 10 months. This journey has been amazing. Stressful, but fun. I enjoy seeing the customers’ faces when they receive their order.
I have now started selling other things that aren’t just bouquets! I am now selling gift baskets, and customizable cups or mugs!
