This past Sunday, January 19, 2025, a ban went into full effect on an app called TikTok. The app was banned on American phones because allegedly the creators were stealing valuable data from our phones. President Trump was inaugurated a day later and he unbanned the app, stating he brought it back because the younger generation loved that he was on there, and it connected him to more voters. Trump is using an app to manipulate the younger generation claiming to give them what they want, but in reality, he was the one who wanted the app banned in the first place in 2020. He never signed this bill when he was president, but after Biden was put into office, he signed off on this right before Trump took office. Some people are saying he used a manipulation tactic on younger voters to get them to vote for him for bringing back their favorite app. Either way, he is now in office and now has more influence over younger voters, and ran a successful campaign.

Payton Alaniz is a 17-year-old senior at GHS. She has lived in Graham for her entire life. She loves history and English and loves to sleep. Payton considers herself funny, energetic, and loving. She is excited to be in the newspaper this year and learn more about financing in her math class. Payton has a 3.7 GPA and has worked very hard to achieve it. Payton loves to cook and bake for her friends and family. She also loves to draw and paint. Payton thinks about many different things and asks questions no one else thinks of.Payton is excited to graduate this year and become a travel nurse, where she can go to Greece and Iceland. Payton’s favorite shows are the Vampire Diaries, and Mike Flanagan shows on Netflix. She enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend. Payton has high hopes for the future and is very happy to be involved in this years newpaper.
