Should we do hybrid weeks or four day weeks? Hybrid weeks can either be four or five day weeks. So with the struggle of hybrid weeks is that we don’t really know if we have school that Friday or not. Then with the four day weeks the school year could end up being way longer than with the hybrid weeks.
So the pros of hybrid weeks are that you get to skip some Fridays while also having the luxury of being able to go to school on the other Fridays. Then also with the hybrid days you may have some kids who learn better when they are doing school day back to back. Then the last pro is that some people are just very familiar with hybrid weeks.
Some of the cons about hybrid weeks are the fact that some parents need to find a way to take care of their child. Some parents work nine to five so to sum it up they can not take care of their child.
Then we have four day weeks. With the strictly four day weeks some children learn better and will have more time to study with the four day weeks. With studies it also helps the students have more time to rest. Then with the more rest time you might even see an increase in the attendance scores. Some high school students have a job and this will give them another day they will be able to work.
The cons of four day weeks is that the school day or even the school year could be longer. Then there is the issue of child care and having trouble finding a sitter for the younger kids. Then it has a negative impact on the students that come from a low income household.
Then with the 4 day weekend you might even have reduced student achievements cause with the four days can come laziness and forgetfulness.
So then it comes to my opinion. So what I have to say is that I do like the hybrid weeks but I have to go with the four day weeks. The reasoning behind it is because it gives you more breaks and I am okay with the school year being a few more weeks longer. I like to have more days and time to study. Then some students have extracurricular activities that have happened the day before that made them come home later. So therefore they could actually get some rest on Friday and be able to sleep in.
One of the main reasons kids want a four day week is that they think they are getting more time from school off but is that true? Truthfully the school year gets dragged out a little longer or the school day does. Then one of the best reasons we should have Fridays off is that you can make appointments on Fridays. So four day weeks won’t really affect school day attendance and will help kids get more rest and more time to study. So as many of the students here see, why not have a four day weekend?
With the hybrid weeks kids get to work at their own paces without missing too many Fridays to get caught up on their work. Then with all of this kids will have a less extended school year than with the four day weeks. So my question is what do you prefer? Hybrid weeks or four day weeks?
