A conspiracy theory is an explanation for an event or situation that asserts the existence of a conspiracy theory. Over the years the internet has been around, many people have come up with the most ridiculous and absurd theories. However in the pile of all this idiocy there are actually a few interesting theories.
A very common conspiracy theory that a lot of people believe in is that the moon landings were fake and what was shown on TV was a Hollywood studio. The evidence that most people talk about is the fact that on the footage there were not any stars. This theory has since been debunked but it is still interesting to think about.
One theory I 100% believe in is the Mandela Effect. This theory was created by paranormal researcher Fiona Broome, who reported having vivid and detailed memories of news coverage of South African anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s. The Mandela Effect is essentially just a large group of people all sharing the same false memory. For example, a large amount of people remember the kids show the “Berenstain Bears” to be spelt with an “ei,” but in reality the show was always spelt the “Berenstain Bears” with an “ai.”
The Denver International Airport conspiracy theory keeps me up at night. Many theorists believe that the Denver International Airport has thousands of underground bunkers for the rich and elite of the world whenever the apocalypse starts. Yes, this sounds crazy but the evidence behind this theory is pretty believable. The airport is twice the size of Boston and they switch contractors every couple of months so no one knows the full layout of the airport. During the construction of the airport they had to bury five buildings in order to build it meaning there are apparently thousands of underground tunnels underneath the airport. Next, the artwork displayed at the airport is very unsettling. A very large mural of a soldier holding a rifle standing above sleeping children is an amazing way to get excited for a flight. Although this theory is a very big stretch, it is still very scary in my opinion.
These are three conspiracy theories that I find to be very interesting that a large group of people believe in. While conspiracy theories are fun to think about and it is very easy to get stuck in a conspiracy theory rabbit hole, it is very crucial to remember to discern fact from fiction.
