As of January 16, 2025, the Graham City Council reached the ultimatum of ending its contract with Waste Connections, the former provider of Graham’s waste collection, in favor of accepting a new business proposal from KC Dumpsters LLC.
The new proposal states that cans will only be collected once per week, with citizens now being asked to take recycling bins to the convenience station. This change was implemented after the Graham city manager commented that most people were using blue cans as an extra trash can, instead of a recycling bin.
The contract between Waste Connections and Graham has been set to expire on August 31, 2025. The following days leading up to the contracted date have consisted of their green cans being removed and replaced with grey KC Dumpster ones that sport their logo and contact information.
Waste Connection will be expanding outside of Graham’s in-city limits and into the Iowa Park Area of Northwest Texas, where its main residents and businesses will be located in Bowie, Iowa Park, and areas outside of Graham’s city limits.
