Graham Lady Blues
On Friday, September 12, at 4:30 p.m., the Lady Blues played a volleyball game against Wichita Falls Legacy. The volleyball team played a very interesting game against Legacy. This game was extremely close and nerve-racking, but the Lady Blues came out on top. The players really did play their hardest and kept their energy up throughout the entire game. The crowd at the game was on edge throughout the plays because the score was getting close at some points. Our players, despite the game getting close at times, never let the score affect how they played or competed.
As heard from the players earlier this year, one goal of theirs was to prove to people that, despite having a young team, they can and will win. They have kept up with this goal and have really proved people wrong. This game ended in three sets with the scores being 25-22, 27-25, and 30-28. The Lady Blues came out on top once again this week and will continue to do so this season. This win will surely carry on into the games next week and help them compete as best as they can.
Graham Steers
On that same Friday at 7:00 p.m., the Graham Steers football team played against Whitesboro. This game was very intense and interesting to watch. The football team played with all their energy. Last week’s game against Springtown did not go as expected, but the Steers wanted to come back with a win to prove that they still have it. They came back with a win of 35-7, proving to everyone that they are going to play their hardest all season and just continue to get better. The football players were very excited all game, and not once did they let anything bring them down.
The football team will continue to get better and prove to everyone that they will
always try their hardest. The players really did everything that they were supposed to during this game; the energy for this game was exhilarating between the players and the crowd. There was a really good turnout for the student section, who remained focused on the game throughout it all.
This past week, both teams really did represent what Graham stands for as a community and school. Both of the teams have been very successful and impressive, considering both have fairly young players with not much varsity experience. They both have proved people wrong and gotten the community and school excited for what the rest of the season has to offer.
