As we begin the later half of our first semester of 2025, our new principle Mr. Adam Anderson makes his mark on Graham High School. As Mr. Anderson steps into his new role at GHS— he sets the stage for new perspectives and ways of thinking– predominantly in the unique challenges and opportunities that his new school presents him.
When questioned regarding his past school, Lake Belton High School, Anderson exclaimed how much larger it feels. “Belton was HUGE compared to GHS, and that’s not a bad thing,” Anderson stated. “I like the smaller feel of GHS; I’m able to become more personal with the students.” We asked Mr. Anderson to elaborate on what his role was in his previous school and whether or not his responsibilities differ from what they are now. “I was assistant principal at Lake Belton; It came with way more responsibilities and I spent a lot of time focused on discipline,” said Anderson. He then added, “Being principal at GHS, I’m able to spend more time with students and in the classroom, and I think that is something I enjoy.”
We then asked Mr. Anderson if he had any goals he wanted to accomplish at GHS. “My major goal for GHS is to make sure every child is ready for college or any other future before they graduate,” stated Anderson. He continued, “High school is for every kid, and every kid deserves the best education possible. It’s my job to ensure that every kid at GHS is ready for their future.” We followed up with the question, “What is your philosophy on education?” Anderson responded, “I want the best instruction, the best teachers, and the best materials to ensure a quality education for every student. The more we can raise our quality of education, the more students can become successful.”
Ultimately, Anderson provided deep insight into his goals as an administrator and his past in education. GHS Stampede appreciates his cooperation, and we are happy to have him as our new principal! If you see him at school, don’t be afraid to say hi!
