On September 8, 2025, authorities found a decomposing, dismembered body in the trunk of a Tesla registered in the name of 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, or more commonly known as “D4vd”. The car was brought to a tow yard in Los Angeles after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills area. It was reported that the car was producing a foul odor, which then led to the discovery of the body in the trunk. The location where the car was parked was in such a specific place that only one of many nearby houses had a camera that could see it.
When it was reported that a body was found in his truck, it was initially reported that he was cooperating with authorities and continuing with his tour, so it seemed to me like D4vd couldn’t have been behind it. The situation kind of went silent after that until the body was identified.
The body was identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. She was predicted to have been deceased for several weeks prior to her body being discovered. The situation got even crazier when it was discovered that Celeste and David had matching finger tattoos. Celeste’s family knew that she was with a guy named David, and her brother claimed that David would regularly pick her up in the same Tesla her body was found in. David’s connection to Celeste goes all the way back to when she was 11 years old. The two had talked on Discord in David’s server. David would’ve been around 16 then, which is pretty weird. David has also been seen at Celeste’s school, allegedly buying the silence of her classmates. Apparently, David wasn’t aware of Celeste’s age at the time, but it clearly wasn’t a one-time thing, and I find it very hard to believe that it took him so long to realize he was both hanging out and getting romantically involved with a child.
The theory that David got Celeste was carrying David’s baby was recently debunked. There is also an unreleased song titled “Celeste,” which is likely about the victim. Although David has been involved with multiple girls named Celeste, the song honestly sounds really good. Still, obviously, it’s extremely disgusting and disturbing, knowing the context of the situation. With the context, the lyrics make the song unlistenable, no matter how good his voice is.
There is footage of Celeste back home in September 2024, and after that footage, there are no videos or any records of her until her death. The only thing that could potentially be a clue is a TikTok on David’s burner account that is of him cleaning two pairs of shoes that look like some that belonged to Celeste, but that doesn’t really confirm anything we didn’t already know.
It is currently unknown if David is guilty of the murders, but we do know that he is guilty of having a romantic relationship with a minor, and even if he didn’t commit the murder, he’s very closely tied to it due to his car being involved.
Unlike when I covered the Jaydes situation, I’m not going to do any album reviews to go along with this article. I never really listened to his music outside of the song “Notes from a Wrist” and the big songs everybody knows. This situation is too dark to turn into an album review. Looking back, reviewing all of Jaydes’s albums might not have been the smartest decision either, but this David situation involves the murder of a 15-year-old girl and should be taken very seriously.
Whether or not he’s guilty of the murder, it is still extremely confusing to me how he is currently a free man. There’s a mountain of evidence that he was romantically involved with a minor. It is insane to me that he remains a free member of society with all of this evidence stacked up against him. It’s also peculiar how people within his inner circle and community were aware of this and didn’t speak out about it. I believe that evidence will prove David is guilty, that is, if he ever is arrested and goes to trial for it. Celebrities should be held to the same standard as the rest of society.
