Matthew Monrreal is a senior at Graham High School. He enjoys long walks on the beach, procrastinating on his homework, and ingesting more than the daily recommended amount of caffeine. He participates in extracurriculars such as the Smoking Steers (which he is the captain of), Theater, Student Council, Key Club, the Rocket team, and the Animatronics team. His favorite theater production that he’s ever been in is Shrek The Musical, where he portrayed the ogre himself. Although he had both the flu and strep throat during show days, he still somehow miraculously performed to critical acclaim. On the BBQ team, he has the responsibility to both smoke the brisket for the team and also manage everybody’s fires as well as his own, because apparently, they are unable to do so themselves. On top of this, he has his own catering business named “MM Smoke” that caters any number of occasions, such as banquets, quinceañeras, graduations, and pretty much anything else he can get you to book him for. He spends most of his free time trying out new and exciting recipes. If it fits on a grill, a skillet, or in a smoker, Matthew can probably cook it. Other than being a culinary entrepreneur, Matthew likes to spend time with family and friends. He’s not entirely sure if most of his friends stick around just because of the free food just yet, though. In summary, Matthew is an academic weapon, can cook like a beast, and is an all-around chill guy.
