The reason students test is to see how much they have learned and know, but is every test for that purpose? People all over the country have talked about how students might be overtested. Like I said, tests are made to see what you have learned, but if you take them too often, it loses the point of taking them. If you take a test every weekthen it becomes more of an assignment rather than a test. What about tests that aren’t even there to check your skill? Let’s take the most recent test, for example. The PSAT is a test that is mandatory for juniors to take. The point of the test is to practice for the SAT, which is a test for scholarships and college. The fact is that fewer than half of the students in each grade actually take the SAT. Overall, the PSAT is a 98-question test that takes up your entire day, which you are required to take to practice for a test you might not even take. To some people, it is a waste of time if they know for a fact they won’t take the SAT. Tests should be for the main purpose of seeing what you have learned or to see if you have the knowledge for something. Not just as an assignment or things people might not want.

About the Contributor
Dillon Teall is a senior at Graham High School. He is usually quiet and does his work, unless he is with his friends. He has participated in multiple extracurricular activities, such as culinary and floral design, but his favorite by far is ag mechanics. He hasn’t done much in ag mechanics, but he loves the teacher, Mr. Sanders and wants to do it for a career. After high school, he is most definitely going into trade school for HVAC or welding. One of his favorite things to do in his free time is drive. Driving is a way to relax for him, and it feels natural to do. Besides driving, he plays a variety of video games and watches One Piece. His favorite video games are Sekiro, Sifu, and Cyberpunk. His favorite movie is Tombstone, and his favorite TV show is Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. And most of all, he tries to be a good Christian even when he isn’t.
