Recently, a few players on the football team decided to bleach their hair to welcome the 2026-2027 7-7 football team. At first, it was meant to be a “team bonding’ activity and a way for them to grow closer together. Then, in a nick of time, the small act quickly began to grow into something bigger that spread through the hallways of Graham High School.
For the football team, it wasn’t just about their appearance; it was more about their identity. The guys found this activity to be a way to show their connection off the field as well. It goes to show how well the players are united with each other. Without much work, they created the visible symbol of the connection that is built. From the hallways, classrooms, the field, and outside of it all, they all look like a group that shared a purpose for each other and the sport.
Less than a week into some of the football players dying their hair, some underclassmen boys decided they needed a change in their appearance. As they walk the halls, we question, “Maybe they admire the team,” or “Maybe they thought it looked cool,” or even “Maybe they wanted to be a part of that group?”
Collectively, through all the grades, instead of the guy’s hair looking platinum blonde, it started looking yellowish orange. During the process of bleaching their hair, we concluded that they forgot the toner! Other students find this “trend” funny because every once in a while, another student walks in with bleached hair.
As this current event continues, we are waiting to see how fast this trend will come to an end or if it will grow even more than it is now.
