“We’ve all felt like a clown at some point.”
Clown is Aeter’s strongest project yet. I was already a big fan heading into the album, and Aeter still managed to blow me away. I love the melancholic vibes that the project gives off. My favorite thing about Aeter’s music is his soft, breathy, almost whispery vocals. They really elevate the music and make it feel intimate. Aeter has so much potential and really showcases his talent on this album.

My Experience With Aeter’s Music:
I first discovered Aeter’s music in late 2024. I was already a fan of artists like Jaydes and Wifiskeleton, and I remember finding his music through either Spotify or Soundcloud, autoplaying similar artists. The first song I heard by Aeter was “K*ll Me, Sarah”. I really liked the vibe of his music and the use of text-to-speech voices and sound bites from different TV shows and other media, an example of this being the “you’re not a loser” sound clip from MTV’s Downtown. I listened to his EP “loser” a lot around that time, and then I eventually ventured off into more of his music. Outside of unreleased music, songs on Clown, or Soundcloud exclusives, some of my favorite Aeter songs are “change”, “friends”, and “boyfriend”. After Clown released, Aeter was one of my favorite artists, and I realized I needed more of his music. I started off by looking at the Spotify account “Aeter Vault” and then once I listened to all of those songs, I went looking on his Genius page, and then I would find different songs just on Soundcloud.
Standout Tracks on Clown:
This project contains many excellent tracks, and in this section, I wanted to highlight a few of them that I believe stand out the most. First, I believe that you can’t talk about this project without first mentioning the track “Filthy Yet So Pretty”. I think that this track is the easiest to recommend to people who aren’t already fans of his music. The production on this song is so impressive. It is not my favorite track on the album, but it is one of them, and I think that it is objectively the best track, even if there are songs that I personally like more. The song sounds beautiful, and I think it’s an excellent example of what I was talking about with his soft whisper-like vocals.
Another standout track is “Hair”. I think “Hair” is a really good change of pace for the album. While most of the album is soft and melancholic, this track is one of two that has a harder sound. Aeter describes it as “another hard song—probably the only one that isn’t fully on-theme, since it wasn’t made specifically for the album like the rest. But I still think it fits. It gives listeners one last taste of the harder sound before the album fully shifts into the more mellow, somber wrap-up with the final three tracks”. I really like this track being on the album, even if it wasn’t made specifically for it.
My favorite track on the album is “Kids”. I love this song so much! This song evokes a nostalgic feeling when I listen to it, and I really love it. Aeter said that “Out of all the songs, this is probably the only one that’s made me tear up a little, not gonna lie”. I can’t place my finger on exactly what it is that makes this song so special to me. I think it’s a mixture of all the elements. I really like the production, and I think his vocals work beautifully with the instrumental.
These are just a few tracks on the album that I wanted to talk about further in depth. There is not a single track of this album that I don’t like, and there are a few others that I LOVE that I didn’t talk about to avoid the article being too long.
Final Thoughts:

Conceptually, Clown is amazing, and Aeter plays into his clown character extremely well. This album is a wonderful showcase of Aeter’s versatility, and I really appreciate the vastly different sounds found in tracks like “Hair” compared to tracks like “Kids”. My only complaint with the project is that it’s WAY too short. The project is only 22 minutes long. I believe Aeter has so much potential and could be one of the most successful artists in the underground scene. I am so incredibly excited for his upcoming project “SKIN TURNS RED”, as the singles released on Soundcloud have been very good, and because Clown is my favorite album released in 2025.
