Olivia Rodrigo is building a lot of excitement for her third album, and fans are paying attention to every little detail. After the success of her freshman album, SOUR and sophomore album, GUTS, this new era already feels different. Instead of just announcing the album, she’s been dropping clues and letting fans figure things out in a very Taylor Swift-esque way.

The album is to be called You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, and it seems to focus on love, but with a sad twist. b Fans think the theme is about being in love while also feeling unsure or unhappy. This is a shift from her earlier music, which focused more on heartbreak, and shows how her perspective is growing. However, after her recent breakup with Louis Partridge, fans think this album might be telling their story.

One of the biggest clues has been the famous Los Angeles mural wall. At first, it said “OR3,” then it was painted over and changed into a pink wall with the word “love.” Prior to this, the color of the paint changed day by day from purple to pink. Some think the changing wall represents how relationships can be confusing and unstable.

There have also been clues found in different cities around the world. Fans discovered pink locks in places like Los Angeles, Paris, and London. When the messages on the locks were put together, they hinted at the release of her single “Drop Dead”, to be released April 17th.

Olivia also created a hotline number. When fans called it, an encrypted message with clues was played.  Fans discovered the timing of Olvia’s announcement, and they were correct! After the pink moon, which was April 2nd, Olivia announced her third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love”, out June 12th.
